No. TurnitChecker is an independent service and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Turnitin, LLC. We provide access to AI writing and similarity report-checking services so you can review results before your institutional submission.
Similarity checking supports documents in multiple languages. AI Writing Reports are currently available for qualifying content in English, Spanish, and Japanese. Documents in other languages may not generate an AI Writing score.
TurnitChecker is designed for private pre-submission checks. Your document is processed only as needed to provide the requested report or service and is not retained for routine long-term storage on our platform. Files and related processing data may be kept temporarily where reasonably necessary for service delivery, security, troubleshooting, fraud prevention, or dispute handling. Submissions are configured not to be added to Turnitin's student paper repository during processing.
Turnitin displays AI Writing results as follows: 0% may be shown as 0%; scores from 1% to 19% are displayed as *% without an exact percentage; scores of 20% or higher are displayed as an exact value. This display rule reflects the higher risk of false positives at lower scores. *% is not an automatic pass or failure and should be interpreted according to your institution's policies.
An AI Writing Report may fail to generate if the document is outside the supported 400–28,000 word range, is written in an unsupported language, contains too little qualifying prose, or cannot be processed correctly. Please review the document requirements and try again. If the issue continues, contact support.
AI detection can produce false positives and should not be treated as definitive proof of AI use. Review the relevant text in context and follow your institution's guidance.
Scores may differ because detection tools use different models, training data, thresholds, and methods for analyzing text. Results from separate tools should not be expected to match exactly.
Results are typically delivered within 30 minutes. During peak hours, processing may take slightly longer, but we always aim to deliver within the hour.
