This Privacy Policy explains how TurnitChecker ("TurnitChecker," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, stores, shares, and protects personal information when you access or use our website, pre-submission report services, document refinement features, customer support, and related services (collectively, the "Service").
TurnitChecker is an independent pre-submission report and document refinement service. Depending on the service selected, users may receive AI writing or similarity reports generated through third-party academic integrity platforms.
TurnitChecker does not provide users with a Turnitin or iThenticate account, institutional license, membership, or direct platform access. TurnitChecker is not affiliated with or endorsed by Turnitin, LLC. Turnitin and iThenticate are trademarks of their respective owner.

Where the GDPR, UK GDPR, or similar laws apply, we may rely on:

Processing may involve TurnitChecker systems and third-party providers that support report generation, document analysis, refinement, infrastructure, security, or service delivery.
For eligible report-checking services, submissions are configured not to be added to Turnitin's student paper repository during processing. This repository setting relates to whether a submission becomes a future student-paper match source. It is separate from temporary technical and operational processing.
TurnitChecker does not use submitted documents as a publicly searchable or general-purpose content repository.
5. Data Retention and Deletion
We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for service delivery, account administration, security, troubleshooting, fraud prevention, dispute handling, and compliance with legal, tax, accounting, or contractual obligations.

Order, transaction, accounting, fraud-prevention, and legal records may be retained for longer where reasonably necessary or legally required.
Residual copies may remain for a limited period in backups, logs, caches, or disaster-recovery systems and will be removed or overwritten through normal system processes.
Users may request deletion of eligible personal information. Certain information may be retained where necessary for legal compliance, fraud prevention, security, accounting, or the establishment, exercise, or defense of legal claims.
